Kathy Kahng

After a hard fought campaign, Kahng was narrowly defeated on 11/8 by 210 votes.
Kahng’s work for District 3 will continue on, and expect another challenge in the next election!

I will focus on:
Clean drinking water and the health threat caused by PFAS (forever chemicals) in our groundwater
Proactively pushing high efficiency septic systems to keep our water bodies, groundwater and NYC watershed clean
Work more closely with NYS Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) and NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to more proactively manage issues like PFAS and high efficiency septic that vastly impact our drinking water and the NYC watershed 43% of the Town of Kent is owned by NYC DEP or NYS DEC.
Work with all six towns in Putnam County to apply for NY Forward Downtown Revitalization Initiative grants to turnaround and supercharge our ailing downtown corridors and commercial strips. We can bring more necessary and useful services and retailers to our local communities.
As you can see, I have a proven track record of accomplishment in Kent and Putnam County working with volunteer groups. My professional experience working with both public and private sector organizations is highly adaptable to working for you in the Putnam County Legislature. Please vote for me on November 7!
